Or Tzedek Winter Retreat 2012

Make a Difference

Or Tzedek is a program of the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs, the most experienced Jewish social justice organization in the country. Or Tzedek provides teens with inspiration and know-how to change their world by exploring the relevance of Jewish tradition to their lives.

At Or Tzedek, you will gain knowledge, insight and inspiration as you meet with prominent Jewish educators, leaders, and activists. Together, we will engage with Jewish text studies rooted in social justice issues, and share our unique Or Tzedek Shabbat through new eyes with your new friends.

Winter Retreat 2012

Dec. 26-29, 2012

Meet Chicago-area teens and engage in four intensive, incredible days of building friendships, taking action in Chicago's diverse communities, exploring Jewish approaches to justice and developing as a leader.

Through Or Tzedek's second annual Winter Leadership retreat, take the next step in your social justice journey and learn activism and organizing tools to effectively mobilize your home communities around social justice issues. The leadership retreat is open to high school students, both who have and have not participated in Or Tzedek and Or Tzedek alums in college.

Tuition is $275 per participant. The fee includes all three nights' lodging, kosher food, programming, transportation and entertainment expenses. Tuition does not include travel expenses to and from the program.

The retreat will be housed at Hostelling International Chicago, the same accommodations as the summer program. Participants are accompanied by staff at all times throughout the program, including during any free time.
