Or Tzedek Teen Institute for Social Justice
Jul 25 @ 4:00 pm – Aug 5 @ 11:00 am
Or Tzedek is JCUA’s teen institute for social justice. Bringing together teens from across Chicagoland and beyond, Or Tzedek takes the value of tikkun olam and dives deep. Participants will come away with an in depth understanding of Chicago’s local issues, concrete tools to organize their communities for social change, and a closer relationship to Judaism in the real world. Teens live together and explore Chicago, take action on issues such as immigration, police accountability, labor rights, food justice and more with local leaders, and engage in spiritual learning and Shabbat practice around justice. Or Tzedek is open to incoming and current high school students. Check out our past teen and parent testimonials.
Cost: $1600 – Full and partial scholarship is available. Register today!

ICIRR Campaign for a Welcoming Illinois Teach-In @ Instituto de Progreso Latino (IDPL)
Jul 26 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

All three of ICIRR’s Campaign for a Welcoming IL bills have landed on Governor Rauner’s desk, and officially triggered the 60 day period that he has to sign it, veto it, or allow it to go into law. We are now on the official countdown clock, and we have until August 28th to get these important bills signed into law.

In order to demonstrate broad public support for SB34, SB35, and SB3488 (VOICES Act, Safe Zones, and No Registry), and help build more public support for Governor Rauner to sign this bill, we are joining ICIRR and dozens of other organizations for a large public education event on July 26th – RSVP here to join the JCUA delegation!

Reach out to Anna (anna@jcua.org) with any questions.
