Come learn with the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs about the Domestic Worker Bill of Rights. After a five year campaign, The Domestic Worker Bill of Rights became law in the State of Illinois! We became the seventh state to extend basic workplace protections to domestic workers, and ensure that this long exploited workforce enjoys the protections that all other workers have. JCUA was part of the coalition that helped to pass the law, and now we are deeply invested in the implementation of the new protections. Part of that work involves educating people in our communities about this legislation, the plight of domestic workers, ethical treatment of domestic employees, and using Jewish history and values to understand why this issue is important to us.
