JCUA’s Community Ventures Program low-interest loan fund has helped an incredible local organization, the Chicago Furniture Bank, significantly increase its capacity as well as move to a new facility. Register here to join a staff-led tour of the new facility and to hear about the critical work the organization is undertaking to support the successful transformation of houses into homes.
Join us on Friday, October 8 from 5:30-6:00 PM, when we will gather for a Shabbat Call To Action outside Rep. Brad Schneider’s office to light candles, talk about why immigration justice is a Jewish issue, and ask Rep. Schneider to champion a path to citizenship.

Bring Chicago Home is a coalition comprised of people experiencing homelessness and community, policy and direct-service organizations dedicated to addressing homelessness in Chicago. As one of the lead organizations. JCUA is pushing for a change in the Real Estate Transfer Tax to create a dedicated revenue stream that would go to housing 20,000 households over the next 10 years. Over the next 3 months, we will be gathering community support to tell the Alderpeople of Chicago that they must support this ordinance!
