WE DEMAND BETTER: Bring Chicago Home town hall
May 4 @ 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Register here. NEARLY 77,000 PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS IN CHICAGO.
The city will receive $1.9 billion in discretionary funds through the American Rescue Plan.
Mayor Lightfoot spent over 60% of flexible funding from the CARES Act on policing, and
is now proposing that nearly half of the incoming flexible funding is spent on the city’s
debt rather than on what residents need. Join us to demand that our city does better this time. Together, we can create safe, stable housing for all.

We have five weeks until the budget passes, and we need Springfield to know we want long-term investments in our community! Join us in our efforts to lobby state legislators to make sure they pass the Raise Up IL package.

The Raise Up IL coalition has introduced a package of bills that would generate billions of dollars in revenue by ending tax breaks for big corporations and ultra-wealthy individuals — and we’re demanding this revenue be used to fund expanded childcare, the Community Care Program for seniors, K-12 education, immigrant support services, tax relief for working people, and affordable housing.
