After moving online for two years, we’re excited to host Acts of Change on June 2nd at 5:30 pm at the beautiful (outdoor!) plaza of the Chicago History Museum. We look forward to welcoming the members, supporters, partners, and friends who make JCUA the powerful organization it is.
(The standard ticket price is $300. If this amount is cost prohibitive and you’d like to attend the event, please fill out this short form and we will reach out with additional options.)

JCUA and KAM Isaiah Israel are cosponsoring a Southside Social Justice Tikkun Leil Shavuot (night of study for Shavuot). Shavuot celebrates the moment when Jews received the Torah at Sinai; nighttime learning as a community allows us to tap into this moment of revelation! We will have multiple learning sessions, a Ma’ariv (evening) service, music, and snacks to sustain us along with cheesecake and informal time to connect by the KAMII fire pit on Greenwood Plaza.
KAMII, 18 Doors, JCUA, Keshet for LGBTQ+ Equality, Moishe House, Nichols Park Minyan and Repair the World are excited to have you join us for a night of learning, bonfire, song and cheesecake!
Teachers from these partner organizations will share what Judaism can teach us about committing to tikkun olam, repairing the world.
This month, we’ll circle back on some proposed environmental justice campaigns for the North Suburban Organizing Team to work on moving forward, including work with Dayenu and the IL Green New Deal Coalition, as well as discuss possible future racial justice training for the team. Join us to learn how JCUA members in the North Suburbs are taking action locally together!

With an eye to our ancestors, we will embark on a March Through Time to experience powerful reenactments of key moments in the liberation of enslaved people in the United States.
As dusk draws near, we will bid farewell to Shabbat and welcome a new week with a moving Havdalah service. All are welcome as we gather in community, friendship, and love.

Register here to join us. This is the second follow up session where the May 10 JCore presentation on JCUA starting a 501(c)4 sibling organization will be re-screened. There will then be time for continued discussion and questions. This session will be in person at SketchPad (4411 N. Ravenswood Ave.). There is a step to get into the SketchPad building, with the option of putting a portable ramp outside to access the step. There is an elevator to the third floor, or a set of stairs. There is a single-occupant bathroom in the space. We will hold the screening in SketchPad’s open space with the windows open for increased air circulation. We ask that everyone remain masked during the session. If you attended the May 10 session but want to have further discussion with other JCUA members about the proposal and/or have questions for staff or members, feel free to join around 6:40 pm as we’ll spend the first ~40 min rescreening the presentation from the May 10 meeting for those who weren’t able to attend.

Please register here to join us. The goals of this training are to:
1) Unpack our social identities and how they position us in relation to power.
2) Engage with language and tools to support us in dismantling systems of racism & white supremacy. The training will be held in person on Sunday, July 10 from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm.
This training is put together by a multi-racial team of JCUA staff and leaders.
The training is developed for white people and JOCs who are looking to strengthen their skills to better combat racism in themselves, their work with JCUA, and throughout their lives.
Please note: this training is a prerequisite for our White Racial Justice Working Group as well as for the Intersections of Antisemitism and White Supremacy Training taking place in the fall/winter.
If you are interested in participating in this training, please fill out this RSVP form by Monday, June 20.
