Sophie Stein (she/her)

Sophie (she/her) is JCUA’s Avodah Organizer. Sophie was born and raised in Chicago near Humboldt Park. She first joined JCUA as an Or Tzedek member when she was in high school, and became invested in JCUA’s Housing and Economic Justice work. She’s come back to JCUA since graduating college, and this year will be focusing on regional base building on Chicago’s Northeast Side and supporting JCUA’s fight for progressive revenue with the Illinois Revenue Alliance. When she’s not engaging with justice work, Sophie loves swimming in Lake Michigan, going to concerts, getting ice cream with friends, and trying matchas across Chicago.
