Talia Yaari
Youth Leadership Coordinator
Talia Yaari (any pronouns) is JCUA’s Youth Leadership Coordinator, where they work with teens participating in the Or Tzedek Organizing Internship. Talia grew up in West Bloomfield, Michigan. At Jewish day school, they developed a strong foundation of Jewish literacy regarding ritual, history, language, and text. At home, their parents and family instilled knowledge and pride in our mixed cultural heritage of Mizrahi, Sephardi, and Ashkenazi traditions.
Talia’s organizing experience began when they were a student at the University of Michigan. Through the Sunrise Movement, they were involved in leading a months-long escalation campaign targeted at garnering elected officials’ support for the Green New Deal. In their free time, Talia enjoys cooking, dancing, and spending time with friends and family, especially their adorable nieces and nephew.
