JCUA decries hate crime against Palestinian-American child in Plainfield, Illinois

JCUA is horrified to learn of the murder of a six-year-old Palestinian-American boy and the stabbing of his mother in Plainfield, Illinois.

We condemn in the strongest possible terms this grievous hate crime and call on our leaders both locally and nationally to stand against Islamophobia, de-humanization, and all forms of hate, especially at this time of conflict in Israel and Palestine.

We are joining our partners at CAIR Chicago at a press conference on Sunday, October 15th at 3:30 pm.

JCUA has worked to combat poverty, racism and antisemitism in Chicago and Illinois for nearly 60 years. We continue to work in coalition with diverse partners to pursue racial and economic justice through education, outreach, and local campaign work.
